Close up of lamp 1940's . Needed larger picture to have more details.
Soft porcelain lamp was left to me by my lamp. My mother said it was the ugliest thing she had ever seen. I like it because it is so unique but would like information on maker.

Poster did say soft porcelain so I would say Chalkware . She is in such prestine condition that I wonder if she has been restored , if she was porecelain she would have retained herself and painting . I think I would need to hold this to decide . Very nice ! Are eyes glass or painted ?

The high gloss is not like chalkware more ceramic that is fired (porcelain)

Yes, she has been restored. She had a lot of crackling and started to come apart. An elderly lady took four years and repaired her. The lady told me she was soft
Porcelain which I have no knowledge about. She did say she had to "fire" her before she was finished and she does look like porcelain to me. The eyes are painted on not glass.

She does look similar to the tretchikoff pictures but none of them are on bases. I am going to try and post another picture.
