Sadly the seller broke the tea cup to this gorgeous saucer...
    OCCUPIED JAPAN CHUBU CHINA
    Measures...
    5.5" DIAMETER

Occupied Japan marks date from 1945-1952 so just after WW II when U.S. forces were still there. It was thought that export pieces like this would indicate to the American buyers that this money would be going toward reparations after the war. A lot of anti Japanese feelings at the time, so the potteries used the"occupied" marks to help overcome some of that. Basically saying....."OK you guys won and we'll even admit it ." -Mike-

This is all I could find about Chubu China Aim..

Chubu China Occupied Japan Mark – (Porcelain Japan)
TheAntiqueTrade.co.uk Glossary of Antique Terms C
Chubu China Occupied Japan Mark – (Porcelain, Japan) – The Chubu China pottery was opened after WWII during the American Occupation of Japan. The only Chubu Marks that I have seen to date include the Occupied Japan Mark. I am unsure what became of the factory after the occupation. Chubu is one of Eight Regions in Japan and is located in the central region of Honsho the Largest Island of Japan which they call the Mainland.

    Many thanks to Mike :)

Aimathena I have just spent a whole lot of time going thru your posts. Sorry for being such a slack arse but I didn't "love" them all but they deserved it!
Your place must just be full of eye candy!
It is an extraordinary and beautiful collection.....and if I may say happily also very girly. Xx Karen

Awww thanks so very much Karen xo how sweet was that!! Truly appreciate it. I know that was a task looking thru over 500 posts LoL I plan to remove a lot of them. I try grouping items then go back & remove the individual posts.

Mike, thanks so much.... great information. I truly appreciate you taking the time to look that up and post it here. I really like the saucer, hopefully one day I'll find the tea cup as well.

Aww careful deleting posts, a bit of advice, as you know, I've regretted deleting lots, thinking 100 is enough, lol. does it matter how many, is there a limit, i find things all the time posted years ago & still there, thankfully. Oh & I'd keep an eye on that Tom if i were you ;)
    13. Vintagefran Vintagefran, 11 years ago
Sorry Tom only joking. I've 'lost' things amongst 100 posts, i dread to think trying to find something in 500! Grouping posts is a great idea Aim but how would you update that? Maybe CW could come up with a way? :)

Oh, i keep forgetting, love that this also has 'occupied Japan' on the back, nice bit of history:)
    15. Aimathena Aimathena, 11 years ago
Yes, it really is a lot of great information. I need to copy Mike's comments into the description area.
