From old auto depot that was on corner of 5 th and state in Lacrosse WI. Building was tore down about 1982. Service sign was above door and I pick this out of the rubble. I would like more info on this sign . I also got an old map of the city that was buried under the number one fire station next door to this . They tore down fire station 1969 but left the basement and used rebar and cement to cover over top and was part of parking lot for this gas station. Got map about a year later at 2 nd phase of demo. I have a black and white photo of my grandfather standing under this sign in 1932 right after they completed installing the pumps at a new station in Sioux City, Iowa. Hope that helps you out and I believe they are made of terra cotta maybe? and I would love to add one of those to my collection someday! Very cool piece and there was only one per station if I am not mistaken and not all Standard stations were service stations.
