I was just wandering if anyone out there knows anything about cameo jewelry. I have a vintage brooch from that belonged to my grandmother who i believe got it from her mother. Dont know much about it or if it is worth anything. I tried a couple jewelry stores but none would appraise it i sent pictures to auction houses no response. I just want to knwo if it is even worth anything.

Beautiful, cameos are always a favourite among collectors of vintage jewellery. If you can find out the year, what its made of (shell, resin etc?) you could even sell it on ebay or other auction sites.

I hope you keep this! Sentimental value enough, the settings for the gemstones are so intricately made it looks like they could very well be diamonds and emeralds/tourmaline set or something of the sort! Cameo looks like it was carved from a conch shell, The skill of the cameo carving is really nice; I don't think any jeweller would logically put this quality in anything but gold and fine gems. The frame style suggests it could date anywhere from late 1800s/early 1900's. I would most definitely get a proper appraisal before trying to sell it.

I don't know the value, but it's one of the nicest I've ever seen!
