Another little item I found today. I have a few Royal Copley hens and roosters but I haven't a clue about this piece. It's 6" tall and appears to be old. The glaze is crackled and the color reminds me of Chinese celadon green. It might even be an Asian piece for all I know. Well into the hen house with the rest of the flock ! -Mike-
He's going to cause some trouble in the hen house that boy! Great little piece.
On my very looooong list of things I always pick up are chicken figurines (we call them chooks here). They always make me smile and after a fox killed my 3 real girls recently they are very moving too. I miss getting eggs but I miss my chooks company more!
Good thing we're not neighbors, he might just follow's home. LoL
Racer, so sorry for your loss. xo
Ooh thanks Aim. Dumbest creatures on earth (they didn't even have 1 brain between 3) but entertaining and sweet.
Just gotta fox proof the chook house and get some more in spring!
Aww....That's so sad racer4four. I do love chicken but once they become family pets they'd be off the menu except for eggs...lol. Foxes are very cute as well, although they can be a pest in this instance. I saw one sitting on the curb of a four lane highway that divided a metro park by us. He just sat there with the cars wheezing by. I thought please don't try and cross that busy street ! He just sat and waited for all the traffic. Then he crossed the road to the other side of the park as I watched in my rear view mirror. I thought, that was one sly and lucky fox...lol !
