    (600 items)

Here I have a beautiful German Dish with hand painted roses, a green (airbrushed looking) surrounding the white leaves.
I believe I actually purchased this item from twice from this seller.
How you ask... Well by now, we all know I'm a magnet for dishonest sellers. After I paid for the item the seller contacted me and said she dropped the piece and it shattered into tiny shards of glass.
I asked for a photo of the back of the dish. The seller seemed offended and asked WHY?? I explained... "so that I may find another one." The seller said she dug thru the trash can but there were no pieces big enough to find any markings on. O.o hmm... She offered me one of two other less expensive dishes she had for sale. I declined and asked for my money back.
So a few days later, the seller contacts me again... very excited that she had found its duplicate from a vendor she knows. Said she would pick it up over the weekend, and if I was interested... she would sell it to me for the price I paid for the first one. Well... once she supposedly picked the second one up, she up's the price a wee bit. I reminded her that she agreed to sell it for the same price I paid for the first dish. She said she would go ahead and take a loss since she broke the first one.
Now look at the two photos. The green paint splatter is in the same exact spot on both dishes. Let's say the painter was meticulous about their work and made sure to identically paint pieces. Well, now how do we explain the dirt spots and remnants of the price sticker on the same exact spots on both dishes? Uh huh, same dish.

Your piece looks to be RS (Reinhold Schlegelmilch) Prussia, the pattern I believe is carnation. Prior to WW2 it would have been marked Prussia. After WW2 the back-stamp changed to just Germany. The shape and color of your mark was typical of all imported goods... more commonly found saying Japan.
      Beautiful piece!

Gorgeous dish Aim, i love its so small:) what unscrupulous sellers there are! I bought an ashtray recently, only to see the same ashtray, same pics, for sale after I'd got mine, turned out the seller had two, never mentioned that at the time & the one i got wasn't the one pictured! There's air bubbles and a chip on mine not shown on the other one, the seller did say it was chipped so i didn't argue and just kept the one i had, but sneaky practices. In this case sounds like the seller blatently out & out lied! As with bubbles in glass, drips of paint aren't going to be duplicated! Lol.

      http://rsprussia.com/ No markings like mine.

Hiya Mike, yeah this lil dish had me up the entire night. I still haven't found anything like it. It's kinda driving me crazy at this point. Thanks for the love & feedback :)

Well VF, I like to give the benefit of doubt ;) plus I never learn not to trust people. My biggest downfall. Thank you for the love and kind words.

Hi Phil, that's because you're a good person. The seller probably did receive a higher offer after that sale, or just wanted more for it than the auction ended at. I've actually paid $5 & $7 dollars more for shipping than what ebay charged. But I never tried to get the buyer to pay anything additional, even though I had to. ebay short changed me so much on calculated shipping the my Hubster said.... that's it, no more ebay. It's costing us too much money to get rid of stuff. Sadly, we end up taking what we no longer want to the local landfill now. Thanks for the love, and taking time to comment :)

Wow, really? Can you find out who made this, when, pattern name? It's driving me crazy. LoL I have not found one piece like it. I had hoped it was RP Prussian, as they're rather valuable. But I couldn't find anything like this.
    14. Aimathena Aimathena, 11 years ago
      Sorry, RS Prussia

I love second hand but snatching and grabbing before others get to it is not my "Personality." When I called the couple I purchased that huge three piece wall unit from, the man asked if I was affiliated with "Eric", I said no. Then told the gentleman if he had someone else coming at the same time I would be there viewing it, then I would pass on buying it. I told him I wasn't about to fight over furniture. The gentleman looked me in the eyes while we were in his home and said we were the nicest people, out of everyone who had come to buy from them. I cannot tell you how wonderful that felt. I went to one estate sale in Florida with my neighbor Regina. It was a horrible experience, the buyers were running thru the house like vultures. I'm not like that, I did not enjoy the experience, at all. Flea markets and yard sales can get almost as bad. I just prefer to shop online or in antique shops. I've watched too many family members from both sides of our family do the same thing when a relative passed... it sadens me to no end.

I felt like a lil lamb in a lion enclosure at that estate sale. I had no idea people would act like that. I didn't even know what to do, so I just stood next to the item I wanted. LoL I'm sure they were all laughing inside. LoL

Phil, thank you! Such a very sweet friend you are. I really enjoyed the Foley to Shelley. Could not believe Shelley started out as a salesperson. What a great read.
      And Oooh how I enjoyed...
