Amber glass kettle or teapot w/ blue handle. Since there is no lid or opening to get water into / out of the vessel other than the spout, I am assuming this to be a kettle. Likely from the depression era ... possibly older. Has a definite Art Deco look to it.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may know its true purpose and /or who may have made this unusual pot.

Cambridge Glass made a similarly shaped decanter:

TallCakes, thanks for your reference. I agree the Cambridge "Ball" line has certain similarities (as does another teapot made by Heisey), but I have not been able to find any variants within either Cambridge or Heisey that quite match this teapot / kettle. The hunt continues ... :)

      Is it marked anywhere?
    5. twentiethc, 10 years ago
No markings that I have been able to find. I'll try to post better pictures soon.

the pic is very small, but just wondering out loud if maybe this was part of a stacking set, considering the flat top
    7. twentiethc, 10 years ago
TC, it certainly could be part of a stacking set. While the top is actually domed / somewhat pointed, I could see this possibly being the top portion of a stacking set based on the cylindrical flat bottom foot.
