These are actually a preliminary scouting party from the planet Givauden in Sector 4 of the Fornax Cluster. These traveling craft were actually much bigger when they left their world 4500 light years ago but variations in the time/gravity plane have resulted in a size change.
I think you will find no signs of life inside. I am very sorry.

Lovely. Karen, they didn't shrink, didn't you know all beings from the planet Givauden are tiny, average height 3", this is there actual size, possibly an unmanned drone ;)
check it with a black light. Altho' the creatures may have 'dissipated' over time there's a good chance that they left dried body fluids behind that would be exposed under black light (have you checked yourbathroom with a black light lately???).
Not completely sure, but I sure like the color and the shape... Very cool...
