It's not an antique but still fell in love with when I saw it in a Japanese shop on display. It was marked as not for sale but I managed to reach a deal. I believe this is made from natural silk but not sure. Anyone know please comment, guess welcome as well.

Beautiful! Seems to be a thick "crèpe de soie" with a kind of texture.
Silk is very insulating, if you wrap it on your hand, you will feel warmth.
If you can get a thread from a hidden part and approach a flame it will burn with a smoke smelling hair burnt. If not natural silk the thread will melt and smell chemical!

It smells like overcook rice when burnt, that's the best description I could make. It's not single layer and has silk lining as well. Hence hard to tell which one kept the warmth.
