This is one of the first sets I purchased in the early days of this love affair with antique and vintage jewelry. This is a gilded silver set with a large two inch carved carnelian brooch, matching ring with leaves on the sides, one inch earrings, and a paper clip chain necklace and bracelet.
Genuine seed pearls all around the entire set. It's in beautiful condition.
Gorgeous - love the carnelian!
Great photos to show them off too!
Wow... You had great taste from the beginning... I bought a bunch of junk, until I sort of figured out what I like...
This is a beautiful set! I have never seen seed pearls outline a piece of jewely in this fashion... Pretty unique : )
It is harder and harder to find the nice old pieces.
Yes, you have unique treasures, so desirable and impossible to get if not a wealthy Chinese
;-)))
It's funny now because when I bought them I was usually the only
one bidding or even if others did bid, I still purchased them for very little.
Lisa, you're right! China exported lots of carved stones, some were even antique Qing ornaments, sewed on hats or garments. Occidental countries mounted them in jewellery during Arts and crafts and art deco eras :-)
China republic broke antique jewellery as court necklaces, and mounted themselves the pieces for export.
Wow, that is interesting. I love the carved pieces.
