Its seems many of this style cooler has been posted on here, but I dont think a Canadian version has been posted yet. I recently got this cooler for 125$ CAD and was missing almost everything but the lid. I had a few coke items kicking around to fill in the blanks, and hide some of the bad scratches but hoping to get the original cap catcher. Im not even sure if the lid is original its painted black, I have not seen this style cooler with black lid. I'm also unsure if this cooler ever ran, possibly just an ice chest. Inside their is no signs of a cooling coil, only one hole (drain hole). Underneath their is no bottom where the cases would have sat, or possibly the compressor, again not sure if this ever had cooling system. Please let me know if you know more about this cooler, I would like to put a cooling system in it, if its suppose to have one, but not 100% sure.

I've never seen one like it. I doubt it ever had an electrical cooling unit. It may have used the Brown Mfg. original style, vertical, cap puller. The logo is the 1938 or earlier style. Kelvinator built Canadian coolers but yours doesn't look like their style. Yours appears to be the Standard size, 31" wide. It's certainly is not a Westinghouse or Cavalier unit.
      Sorry I can't help.

Hey toolbox thanks for your comment, I have a unique Canadian Coke cooler. In my area this cooler is actually kind of common, you see it on kijiji often, but I like how down in the US it seems rare. Its suppose to have the long vertical cap catcher, but mine was removed at some point in time, so I had to use what I had to try and cover where it use to be. Happy to hear you don't think it ever had cooling unit, does that mean it was just filled with ice? If so my cooler is more complete than I thought I just really wanna find the proper cap catcher for it now. If anyone knows where I can get one that would be great.

Nice snag Trevor, looks great there in the corner. I don't think you'd have to put much into it to get that lid painted and buy a cap catcher. Or just leave "as is", it has a nice presence displayed in current form.

Hey Dave thanks for your comment, I am having a very hard time finding a cap catcher for this cooler. I have no idea what they are worth and were to find one. I have searched ebay, but only find the small ones not the one I need. I was considering painting the cooler but I believe she still has all original paint. I know that maybe hard to believe considering the lid is black but look at the bottom of cooler so is her base. If I took better pictures of the lid, it looks like there is only one layer of paint, just black, I dont think it was any other cooler, possibly just bare metal, before it was black. check picture 3 you can see some of the paint chipped away on lid, but appears to be just bare metal underneath. I was thinking about repairing the backside of this cooler, again look at picture 3, do you think I should repair the coca cola logo? Its got bad paint chip on that side I was considering touching it up, should I, or should I just leave it? Hoping to get your guys opinions.

Hey Trev, Nice cooler, I would say it's definitely an ice box. I'm thinking the lid should be embossed with the logo as well but you never know until you find a model number and maker. The bottom is black because it's a rust proofing coating (kind of like coal tar if it's original) and finally, no need to repaint... just get the rubbing and polishing compound out and grease your elbows. It looks pretty good as is buddy!!

Hey Tom thanks alot for the info great to hear from you. I was a little late at reading your comment because I started to clean the black paint off the bottom of the cooler. It turns out there is red paint underneath the black paint on the base of the cooler, so the lid I am starting to think is not original to the cooler. I think at some point in time the lid was change and they painted the base black to match the lid. I still think it looks pretty good considering how old she is, I will show updated pictures of her when Im totally done cleaning her.

Hi Trevor. I just found a cooler like this. Original lid. Again no indication of there ever being a motor. The ice box liner has a wooden bottom which is weird.
I have part of a serial number plate on mine......cant tell what company made but does say London Ontario. Would like to send pics to you and discuss further to figure out where this cooler came from.
Can we connect by imessage somehow and discuss? Search me on facebook and connect with me if you are interested (Kevin Thiele)

      Thanks
