Yes, I can imagine... Still have some treasures, but I had to sell some when my mother deceased in 2000 :-(
The sale at the moment was not so glorious, as most was XIXth. I specially regret big court dragon robe and pair of coromandel screens!
That's life...

Hi Kyra, love the family history, you've prompted me to post some of mine, read at the bottom of the goldfields brooch post here: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/165592-an-australian-goldfields-brooch-circa?in=collection-4475
Hi Paul! Already seen it :-)
Our ancestors were aventurous pionneer before success and wellness !
By the way Kyra, what a beautiful interior decor!
Thank you AnneLanders and Freiheit for loves :-)
What a beautiful and sophisticated interior!
I think I like it better where you have it now, such a beautiful piece, too wonderful if you could have kept it all - downsizing sucks !~
Thanks Marga and Phil!
The old pics are from my grand parents home in Indochina...I never went there, halas!
The surviving altar and some pieces are now in my home :-))
So wonderful to see the old pics and fantasize being there back in time !~
