This is a ring I bought 5 years ago.
The original stone was a dull blue stained calcedony...
It took a long time to find an opal which could fit the mount, and affordable! When found for 85$ it was too deep. Recently I bought a battery operated engraver stylus and went for gridind or nearly sculpt the bottom of the opal... Here is the result!
I love restoring and now love sharing with you all!
Stunning...love the shape and colour!!
Ha Moonstonelover21! As soon posted, as soon loved lol, you are haunting CW... Thanks for love and comment!

This is gorgeous.... I love what you have done to it.... Awesome.
It's perfect!
wow, the size of the opal is impressive, good work! :)
Thanks Fluffy, Amber, Belle for your love and kind comments!
Thanks Phil for your kind comment, it was this mount design which attracted me in this ring, as the original blue calcedony was completely faded!
I too love opals but that mount is something else, it feels very Theodor Fahrner or something similar, truly beautiful :)
The enamel design is typical Art Deco, I saw too same colors on a vanity box, but can't find a pic..,
Thanks Lizaeggert and ronm for your love :-)
Very clever, love the enamel and what a find with the opal. Very impressed.
Thanks Jean for visiting! And thanks Sean for loving :-)

I could stay lost in these colors for hours and dream...

And.... Thanks to the 33 lovers !
Waaahh it's a gang of Libras! ;-)
Just came across this one, you were very brave to attack your opal with a battery powered dremel, and looks like it now fits perfectly, well done!
Also great that you successfully completed the setting with the prongs, opal is very fragile and easy to damage when pushing over the prongs.
It is a fab looking opal and the finished ring looks super, congratulations!
Kiwipaul, best late than never ;-))
Oh, no! I didn't use dremel on this, only a pencil engraver with AAA batteries!
Thank you for your wonderful comment on my skills :-))
Killer Ring!!!
Wpj, thank you! I'm lucky to have found the opal, and have been able to adapt it to the mount :-))
Thanks Aura too for your love !
This looks fabulous! Great job
Thank you Courtenay, I'm still amazed to succeed in getting the right opal, adjusting and setting it in the mount :-D
Thank you for your kind comment, foseatme! :-D
Aww, thank you for your nice comment, renedijkstra! I still not found another ring with this pattern, only pendant, not attributed...
