Here is are families most cherished possession. We have had this for over 45 years. It was recovered by our late uncle from a school boiler room just before it was to be tossed out. We believe, after extensive research, that this is a one of a kind item. This was a gift from Sir John A. MacDonald to the Brantford newspaper 'Weekly Courier'. He gifted this to the paper after their favourable political articles that helped him win the March 1891 federal election. He himself thought he might not win, so when he did, he was generous to those that helped. He signed it in a, as I describe, whimsical way. He signed it "Premierm Brantford Weekly Courier 1891". Take note as to how he places the small 'm' at the end of Premier. This small 'm' is indicative of his style. Also, according to Collins Canadian Dictionary, Premier is defined as Prime Minister. What is also significant is Sir J.A.M. died shortly after this in May of 1891.
