This is my $2.99 thrift shop find. Bizaar & interesting, disturbingly neat....Yes and that's all the reason I needed. But to tell you the truth, when I first saw this. I had no idea what it was or where it was from. All I knew was some sickly twisted self humored craftsman stuck a beautiful brass boar's head to a block of wood mounted on a pedestal. Gave it a crown of another amazing ornate brass piece, a pheasant figurine. Installed a music box & fancy brass crank handle. A said, "I'm just going to paint it so it doesn't come off as weird!" In all actuality, I was going to disassemble it for the brass & music box, then discard the rest. =^/
Luckily I noticed quite a bit of people looking at this in my hand. So I did a quick Google search, and to my surprise. Another thrift shop day of, "I done did struck paydirt!" =^°

u got a Reuge music box for $2.99...where on earth are you ppl shopping?
Its beautiful.
I have one Reuge box, bought for my husband with the themes of 3 shows I worked on Phantom, Les Mis and Cats...
How many teeth would a box like that have and what does it play? Can you access the instrumentation?
Hello AnneLanders, this Refuge plays "Nocturne in D minor" by Frederick Chopin. I am wondering the same. This music box is asking $200 in very well used condition. This one was never used as the internals are in prestine unused condition. Many thanks for stopping by! =)
Aloha SEAN, many many thanks & always a joy to know you stopped by to give love. Always appreciated! =)
