I was helping my recently widowed aunt clean out her attic and came across this solid wood decoy. It appears to be a mallard hen. It was a working decoy as it has a solid lead weight attached to the bottom. She told me that her husband was given this decoy as a gift and that it was from the late 1800s by an artist named Crowell. I've searched the decoy and have found no signature or artist name. Not sure what its value is. Can anyone enlighten me on this decoy?
