Today was a very good day for the thrifts. Picked both of these up at GW's today. They appear to be green gilt Bohemian glass. The larger piece stands 17" tall and has two red glass (not plastic) jewels incorporated into it's gilded design. One on each side. It has a vertical panel optic effect in the somewhat olive green glass. The gilding is very nice with just a bit of loss on the base. It did have a tiny round black and gold foil label. All that remains is "Ma.. in...." No country! The other piece is simpler. It's 7" tall with a cylinder shaped emerald green body on a twisted stem. It has the remains of a silver foil label which is completely illegible. Really impressive to look at especially the larger piece. -Mike-
I think.........Borske Sklo from the 50s/60s. There's similar decorated with gilt in "Mark Hills Hi Sklo Lo Sklo" BOOK.
I love these. I have a few too!!
Thanks Rose:) I'll have to check into that. Not something I've heard of before.
