Once upon a time I bought an orange bowl having fallen under the spell of its dinky cobalt feet. Then one day Czechman appeared from the Glass Forest to show everyone an identical bowl, but in red and black. His bowl however had the magic oval mark reading, Made in Czechoslovakia. And so it was my orphan bowl became a prince of the House of Loetz.
Yesterday fate struck a blow of a different stripe. Welzebub, another Glass Wizard, arrived in the global village known as C.W. with an announcement. It seems my 'pink candy striped vase' (seller's description) has been transformed into a frog and cast into the dungeon of Unknown Maker. This being the punishment for travelling the world without documentation!
Perhaps Kipling was thinking of glass collectors when he wrote,
If you can meet with triumph and disaster,
And treat those two imposters just the same.....................
OMG....what a wonderful tale of 2 vases!!! XO
Lee :)
BTW, I love frogs!!! They are the best kind...as they will always be Princes in the eye of the beholder! XO
Thank you, Moon, for the kind remarks.
Thanks Czechman. I'll take your kind comment to mean that you didn't mind featuring in a fairy tale.
Thanks Welzebub. It seems you didn't mind either. I did totally 'get' the post that triggered this but it was such a fun idea.
Love the post...:)
Lovely vases - both of them, prince & frog - if they kiss, I wonder what happens... ;)
Thank you, jagsrock95. A smiley face was my aim.
Thank you Michelle007. Possibly chips, cracks and tears from me. :)
