This head is very strange its made from some kind of chalky clay I think! It is 2 1/2" high & looks like an african head but covered in nude ladies all entwined , theyre bodies making the various parts of his face arms make his lips , faces his ears , the back of his head has patterns all over and there is a chinese/ japanese mark on top left as in photo , I have tried to find this poss maker mark which looks similar to the japanese "Arita" mark but slightly different , it looks like an upside down Y with a short - at top and a longer _ half way down and a dot or o between the two legs of the up turned Y..
I really need help with this one as had it for 25 years at least and never seen one like it..

      Sigmund Freud's "What's On A Man's Mind".

Dunno what was on the makers mind!! ;-)

LoL. No, "What's On A Man's Mind" was one of Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theories of man's daily ways of thinking. Freud created theories concerning the human mind and the behaviour. He explains how to acces information buried in the subconcious or unconscious. This sculpture may have been influenced by Freud.

Ive just googled salvador dali , very intresting!! It looks very similar but totaly different .. maybe someone in asia's version of him .. I say this because of the mark on the head ..
      many thanks

Yes I would think Dali was the inspiration of the concept, just as Giuseppe Arcimboldo may have inspired Dali.
