    (464 items)

These two were a tip find about 20 years ago, they were made in 1911 & 1918 by Charles Horner and assayed in chester both silver hallmarked & enamelled but sadly some enamel has come off , they are typical deco style and very nice the pendant is about 3" inc chain and the butterfly 40mm wing to wing..

Actually the butterfly could probably be a bat, looking at the legs its more than likely!!

These are stunning... I have been looking for them on ebay for a very long time.... Either not pretty enough or two expensive. Great collection...
    3. surfdub66 surfdub66, 11 years ago
Yes stunning is a good word for them!! There is a similar one on ebay right now which says it was designed by Archibold Knox (Libertys) its the butterfly/ bat but slightly different as its a necklace and not a brooch. £325.
      Which suprised me...
      many thanx to all, simon

Pleasure I love the colour I don't know if it's me at the moment but my picture seems a bit blurred it could be because of my headache playing with the eyes.
    7. surfdub66 surfdub66, 11 years ago
The pics are slightly blurred, the camera on my tab isnt too good , think ill have to start using my camera ..

In my case I'm just not to good at taking photos so I cannot blame the camera Zowie
    9. surfdub66 surfdub66, 11 years ago
Ha, the camera is ok normally but no good for close ups, you've gotta stand back and zoom in then the pics aren't too good...

      You may try my technique!

      Material used for my restorations:

= jewellers fiberglass pencil brush (brand LIBERTY scratch brush fiber glass)
      = nail polish pearly white
= Pébéo painting on glass discovery kit (colors in the kit : crimson, lemon, orange, chartreuse green, sky blue, gold) + Pébéo vitrail (=painting on glass) medium lightening.
= LETRASET Promarker set of 12 colors + blender

      My technique is :

      - clean thoroughly the damaged area (now I use a jeweller fiberglass brush)
      - take a small amount of pearly white nail polish with a tooth pick and apply carefully on the metal only where is the lack of enamel.
      - let dry completely.
      - apply matching color (or blend primary colors on an aluminium sheet to get matching color!) always with a tooth pick, by tiny drops until the damaged area is covered (don't rub, use the tooth pick as a pen to go to the edges of the piece!)
      - apply the medium lightener same way to get an even surface (DON'T RUB...)
      - put the piece in cold ELECTRIC oven, start fan heat up to 65° celsius, allow to dry for 15/20 minutes.
      - When cold, check it's non finger sticky, then use the fiber glass brush lightly to create the same effect than the existing enamel surface.

      That's all!!!
