This dagger was picked up at a boot sale around 20 years ago.. out of memory it only cost £3.
I dont think its too old , its very ornate on the sheave which is stamped twice .950, either a good grade silver or platinum , the blade I think is steel & is inscribed in some foreign language ,(my bro in law reads latin and doesnt recognise the wording), the handle is definatly ivory with the same metal as the sheave also patterned differently to the sheave , in total the dagger & sheave is 7" long, sheave about 30mm across.. it also has two small discs on chains hanging from the sheave with different pics...
I have done lots of reserch but have came up with nothing yet .. ive asked turkish people if they know about it also asians and my bro in law whos egyptian but no one seems to recognise it.
I would say it would'v been a ceremony piece but dont know for sure so if anyone out there can tell me anything at all I would be very greatful
If you would transcribe the writing from the blade, Google, or someone here may recognize it.
