      Mans first step on the moon and equal payment for women really is something else! We've managed to get to the moon but still haven't managed to reach equality - I love the ironi in this timedocument! It's dynamite :-)

      Thanks all- in April 1969 I started as a cost clerk at the triumph motor company in bordesley green Birmingham , the company made the triumph herald and triumph spitfire car bodies. These were then shipped to the main factory in Coventry to have the engines fitted by transporters that carried 6 bodies each in 2 stories , 3 on the upper deck and 3 on the lower deck--- my starting wage was then £18 pw at aged 21-- the factory workers were highly paid at £ 40 pw when the average wage in 1969 was £25
