I was wondering if you could tell me if the pilsner glass in the picture
attached is an authentic Harley Davidson from the 1960's gun sight logo. The writing is Red and Black, not Orange and Black.
When contacting the Harley Davidson company, the trademark division gave me this response:
Dear Patti,
This will be a very difficult determination to make. We have very few catalogs in our possession going all the way back to the 1960's, and Harley-Davidson was not selling a lot of what we call collateral merchandise at that point in its history. The catalogs we do have, from 1965-1970, show a handful of apparel and maybe some belts; but almost nothing of what we've come to identify as "collectibles", which is the category this pilsner glass would fall into. I'm trying to check with our Museum archivist to see if he has any knowledge of these glasses, or if there are more catalogs in the archives than I currently have access to.
I have not heard back from Harley Davidson to date.
This is very very new .
Can you tell me how you know that?
the design is one thing and these something that wasn't produced in the 1960's , the design would have been completey different and would have the AMF logo I believe as well.
