So many of my CW family have posted Ultima Thule, I thought I would put my bowls up. A real Ultima Thule Festival!!

I actually found all of these at an estate sale where I bought a number of Bjorn Wiinblad pieces. It was a kill or be killed sale with all kinds of dealers running after the good stuff. I nabbed the two big bowls, from under an arm, then wandered into the kitchen. People everywhere and I'm in the thick of it...I then look over by the kitchen phone and there are the six individual bowls sitting there unnoticed. SWOOP!!!

I have some of the short candle sticks somewhere in a box.

Unfortunately these will be going to Randolph as I am actually afraid to use them. And I quote: "What good are dishes if you panic when they are being used?"
Guess who came up with that truth? Dang I hate when he is right. Sets a bad precedent.

How? Everyone just eats from it...not savoring the beauty. Think it's about my hubby's fantastic cooking! Not my genius tables cape and better yet, Scandi pieces!

I have loooong arms so I am genetically predisposed to the swoop!

Mine look just like Sean's I collect and his photos are better! I'll pretend that's my post......
AR use them!! Like I said we use our glasses and bowls everyday....with kids!
Makes life a pleasure to use great design, and I'm hoping the offspring catch on and respect "the stuff" in the house!,,,,

AR is internationally renowned for her swooping, elbowing, and snatching skills. And I've heard it's all with a smile so no one gets hurt!

I use mine every Xmas for the trifle-have since new
    15. austrohungaro austrohungaro, 11 years ago
This glass range is pretty strong. I think you should keep them and use them on a daily basis. I do with the big bowls (the middle sized one, deeper bowl is amazing, isn't it? I wish theere would be a simmilar one only much bigger). And besides, you've got the six small bowls!!!

Ah, the pleasure of using beautiful objects for the ost simple things!!!

I can never bring myself to go to estate sales Amber. Too crowded and cut throat for shy little me.....lol I was in a long line of traffic yesterday going to the thrifts and they all turned into a upscale development. You guessed it....estate sale. Tempted but...no. I'm probably missing treasures galore but they always tend to be way too expensive since everything seems appraised around retail value. Maybe one day.

I do not go to a ton of estate sales, rarely on the first day and almost never for opening. There are exceptions and this was case for this sale. It was coo coo but I actually knew most of the dealers...or introduced myself so there was no real deliberate elbows. Now when I got my Loetz piece it was hardcore. While in line up a rickety staircase, a guy kept shoving me. I turned around and told him I'd push him down the stairs if he shoved me again. (With a number of curse words edited for our more sensitive readers). Not my best moment but he stopped and no one messed with me after that.
What I prefer are the super old houses that you have to dig and get dirty in

LoL! !!!!!!!! AR, I swear I would be on the floor LMBO oh how I hope to see you in action one day. Take dsomeone along to video. LoL
    19. Aimathena Aimathena, 11 years ago
And what a jerk! So glad you put him in his place. People like him are the reason I won't even think about a second estate sale.
    20. Aimathena Aimathena, 11 years ago
Oh mike just reminded me of an estate sale I attended with my mother many years ago during our yard sale weekends. So I've attended two. One in Maryland ran by the homeowners lawyers. I purchased my first pieces of real silver from that sale. My gosh, I've always been obsessed with kitchen items. LoL Believe it or not the sale ran by lawyers was civilized
And then there's the Florida estate sale that I don't even want to think about.

Wow, Amber... I'd love to have witnessed that moment! :) and cursing too!!! :$

I work with all men, have a couple of brothers and really don't like rude behavior. There is a tough streak there but I only bring it out when necessary. Mostly i am sweet as sugar...ask anyone...er maybe not anyone...

AR, you're brilliant! Instead of getting together for cw luncheons or tea parties... we can have monthly cw garage sales.... I mean trades. LoL each month in a different location.
