Hi Coophead, I have a '66 SF III. I bought it in the mid 90s for $750. About 3 years ago I was checking them out on ebay and they were selling from $2000-$2500. Now that the market has taken a downturn people are listing them for $1799-$2000 depending on condition and originality. Although I have seen some go for as little as about $1400. They are wonderful guitars and the mini humbuckers on mine just scream. I use it for blues and I couldn't ask for a better sound. One of these days the market will turn around and prices will head back up. It is a buyers market at the moment. Yours is in fine condition by the looks of it. I like it but I prefer a bigsby. Just my personal preference. Guild guitars are so under rated it's not even funny. I have owned many Gibson guitars also but I prefer Guild guitars. They are every bit as nice as Gibson, but they cost alot less. Yes the starfires were made of all mohogany bodies and necks. Well maybe I should say all the mid 60s starfires were. Was yours made in hobeken or westerly? Guild moved around that time.
