Here's a nice large piece of RRP. done in a brown drip glaze. I have a couple of their blue and white/tan sponge ware pieces as well. Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Co. based in Roseville, Ohio made a lot of utilitarian pieces for the kitchen and home. This bowl obviously spent most of it's life as a planter judging from the calcium deposits on the rim. I believe it's technically a pudding bowl or a large serving bowl for whatever you choose. The lower half has a beautiful swirl pattern near the base which makes it different from the usual ones you see. It's clearly marked on the bottom although a bit hard to read under the glaze. -Mike-
The brown & tan are my favorites. I've seen the others from Roseville that look amazing, but the simplicity & uniqueness of this line up really stand out! =)
These are a fav. Of mine to find thrifting!
They all are going to my daughter, who I got started collecting these lovely piece s now too!
Thanks tom and pickr for the loves and the great comments :) -Mike-
