This very rare sugar shaker is one of the top cranberry opal patterns out there! A blue opal example recently sold at auction for 1200.00! Cranberry is usually far more desirable! I was lucky enough to spot this on Ebay as it was literally just listed with a Buy It Now of a fraction of what its worth so a very quick look at the description to make sure there was no damage and I hit the button.
I believe that Northwood may have produced this pattern. There is very little in the books on this pattern and some say Hobbs and others say Northwood. Either way, I was very fortunate to get this piece!
Update:
While I knew this was a very rare shaker, recent communications with a couple of opalescent collectors have revealed to me that this piece is extremely rare and seldom available for sale!
Congratulations on your find AINJ!
Thanks so much! With all the shakers I have this is the first in this pattern. They are very rare in salt shakers too!
Thanks Leah, its a good one!
