These 3 little cuties I have had for a number of years. Does anyone recognise them. They appear to have some age to them but not sure. Are they depicting African women?.they are very good quality and have nice handpainted detail.
Any help identifying ??.No marks.I also have 2 Kokeshi dolls from Japan. I will list separately.
Cheers rose from OZ

Thanks Mani for the Info.
Thanks all for the love
Alot of the Kokeshi Golliwog dolls were made in the 1950s, They are made in Japan and can be called African voodoo tribal dolls. The one mentioned in the first comment on this page is now mine, I just bought it last week, I have one from when I was a kid and it and the one I just bought are incense burners, they smoke incense cigarettes, they actually puff the cigarette and blow smoke rings. Sadly I can not find any manufacturers that have any of the cigarettes in stock. Trying now to start a collection but the ones that smoke are hard to find.
wow steelerno.I have never seen or heard of a voodoo doll who blows smoke rings.I hope you find the smokes & post on here.would love to see it

There is one on sale on Etsy.com right now for $18 but it has some chips and is missing an earring, she has a fruit basket on her head. lol. I am going to try to find some small thin incense to see if they will work but am doubtful since the ones that go with it are tubular, they look just like a cigarette but they are made out of some kind of resin and wrapped in paper. Just showed one them smoking to my sister in law and now she wants one. lol. I'll try to get a pic with one smoking, I only have five cigs left so I cut them in half to make them last longer. Thanks for interest.
