First of all...Not to be Reproduced. I have had this picture for a few years. It was given to me with some other stuff a Guy from a Pawn Shop I knew. He was closing his store and gave me some boxes of stuff FREE just to get stuff out of there (ASAP) after the property was sold. I just looked at this and it appears to be a real photo. I have no history on it as I got free. Tried to see if I could find another picture like this...and I have not. So not sure where I can find out if real, and if it is (may be) one of a kind. I doubt it -- but you never know. Where else would I look to find it this is a real pic or one of a Kind?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks as always

antiquerose, are there no markings, stamps, or writing on the back of the photo at all? it looks like a candid image for a magazine that might have been an outtake being the reason you can't find anything similar.

@ Gluechip -- No there is not. Looks like regular photo paper on the back.

That is what I am wondering. As I got this from a Pawn Shop that was closing down so who knows the history behind it. I will take a look again at the back -- but I can not find any images like this -- so could I have a one-of-a kind? Where and how do I find out?? Even the frame appears to be an older type too. Other than that -- all I can say is " HELP"

Maybe take it to a photography lab to check the age of the paper. They should be able to tell you when it was printed based on the type of paper or at least come close. Finding out if it was printed while she was alive or someone printed it later.

@Gluechip -- Good idea. I will take a photo of the back myself here later and post. Just doing ....laundry...... right now, yeck!!

I'm guessing this is a later open edition.

On June 1st, 1962 Mr. Barris, internationally renowned photographer and journalist, arrived at the Hollywood movie set where Marilyn Monroe was making her last film, Something’s Got To Give. It was Marilyn’s 36th birthday, and George Barris was assigned by a national magazine to photograph and interview her. For the next six weeks, George Barris photographed Marilyn on the beach at Santa Monica and in a house in North Hollywood where she was unencumbered by makeup and artifice. During these sessions, she told him the story of her life.

Oh Wow.....How did you find that info? I have been searching and searching for something. THANK YOU ever so much!!

So is mine still a real photo as it is on photo paper, and I have probably had it for about 20 years or so myself. What do you think mine is?

      Thanks -- that is amazing!!

"I'm guessing this is a later open edition." Because it is not signed or numbered.
