Elisabethan
(284 items)
Handmade fabric/rug of wool and linen from Skåne in southern Sweden. They are woven in a variety of techniques and were used as a wall hangings and bench lengths. Most were woven during the years 1750-1850, and also in the early 1900s. Röllakan (or even flatweave) is a weaving technique which is a simpler variant of tapestry fabric. A similar technique is Kelim, common in the Arabic tradition. This fabric is probably made around 1850 and the yarn is dyed plant. I think it is very beautiful, which crafts! This rug/hanging is over 2 meters long.
