Ian Fleming Banner

This is a banner advertising the movie "The Poppy Is Also A Flower". It was a story written by Ian Flemming (best known as James Bond author) about the drug cartel and was the last book he wrote before his death in 1964. The movie cast 22 major actors including Rita Hayworth, Angie Dickinson, Yul Brynner and Grace Kelly among others.
This banner is made of canvas with hand cut and sewn on letters. It is approximately 9' wide by 12' tall and used to hang in subway stations to advertise the opening of new movies. There are pre-cut holes in the canvas to allow the wind to go through so it won't become a kite. It has the original hemp rope from which the banner would hang from.
