Hi there! So I rescued a jar of buttons from a dumpster. I work at a storage place, and I believe they came from someone's Grandmother who had passed. Her storage unit was cleaned out by family. My guess is she collected buttons for a long time. Some are clearly from the 50s.
This one I am stumped about. It is dime-ish sized and I believe brass. No mark on the bottom. Just want to make sure it isn't rare or valuable. I would love to know if it is a uniform button of some sort.
Any wisdom shared would be so appreciated. I am not going to sell it. Just want to know if I should keep it from getting scratched up in the jar.
Hi, Looks intriguing but quite commonly used on blazers:

Hard to tell whether your button is a generic one for blazers or actually from a navy uniform. If, so British, Italian or French navy uniforms that can have buttons which resemble yours. Given that you can buy them from fabric stores, I suspect yours should have shown more traces of time should it be authentic, but you never know! Thanks for sharing!
Very good. I am sure you both are right. Thanks very much.
