Here is a black leather doctors bag from the mid 1880's. The bag has heavy, solid brass hardware and clasps that still function perfectly. No makers marks or name embossed on it. It measures approx. 17"x 12"x 8". The leather is dry and cracked. I applied some conditioner and carefully rubbed it in. It soaked it in very nicely. I'll apply one more coat later. The interior leather is expectantly in better condition. It has the belt loops on the sides for additional belt type closures, but it doesn't have any telltale sign's or noticeable wear marks as to were they might have been attached.
