These are a set of eight zodiac coasters from Val Saint Lambert. I am finding conflicting information if they still make these or if they are from the 60/70s.

    Ready? Here's my story...

As some of you know Sean and I started with Lalique week, which has now devolved into cut glass that kinda looks like Lalique.

Naturally I spotted these and thought "Aha!" and swooped them up.
I promptly took three steps and dropped one.
-it didn't break, it shattered...for yards
-did I mention I was in the center of a four way corner?
-the main four way where they put the just out bins?
-the main four way where people like to gather to dig in said bins?

The staff was super nice and when I checked out the woman, who was the same one on clean up, couldn't believe all that glass came from one coaster.
    THAT's how big a mess I made.
    Good times...

      That's right! I can't believe I shattered one.

AR, so sorry one broke. I love them. especially that crab. Not for the sign cancer (I'm Taurus the bull) but because we crab the Chesapeake Bay every year.
If you flip they'll be very easy to sell individually.

"She" was nothing but nice and professional to the butterfingers. Hey at least I didn't have to pay for it!

Thanks a lot AR, now I want a Butterfinger candy bar.

I have a set of six, differing only in the central design, dating to the 1990's. They came as a gift from a Belgian company (not V.St. L.) To this day the V.St.L. web site has a section headed Business Gifts. I have no idea when they began making these.

They're really nice Amber but....you do have the "dropsies".....lol. I didn't see Scorpio unless he was the casualty.

Hahaha, I have been known as the Destroyer.
Mike, there are a couple of odd looking ones so not sure which is which. I did try to ID the dropped one but there literally wasn't a piece big enough to do that.
I never grab a basket or a cart as they get in the way. I get annoyed with the people I call the "Leaners". They walk around practically laying down on their carts and always blocking the aisles.

LoL!!!! That's called old age. My mother would always do that for support.

Lovely coasters only one problem with glass is the condensation you get for cold glass & ice.
    25. Nordicman32 Nordicman32, 11 years ago
Love the coasters now you just need to collect the rest without breaking them ;-)
    26. kyratango kyratango, 11 years ago
Hehe, ...You would have to post all things you broke through the age ;-)
Would have been better living during Neolitic, lol.
But, truly I'm empathic with letting drop nice things!
