This wonderful Rene Lalique pendant is called ‘graines’ which means ‘seeds’. It has a floral motif on white pressed glass with a bluish opalescent centre, and three holes for tassels. I have seen it on different colours, such as blue, green, and burgundy. It was produced in the 1920s. This particular piece is not signed, which is the only way I was able to afford it. It has a small, almost unnoticeable chip on the side, which has been rubbed. I suspect this is precisely where the signature might have been. Otherwise it is in lovely state and it looks stunning. It is very heavy, which is a good sign that it is real glass, and not a resin copy! In any case, according to the R Lalique blog there are no known forgeries of this model, thank heavens!
