The trade winds blew in this latest addition to my Schliersee menagerie - a documented shape in a nice etching ink decor in the same cobalt blue (a favorite color) as the piece I posted an article on last year (see the article for more information on Schliersee):

    http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/101546-glasfabrik-schliersee-vase-ca-1908

Gläserner Jugendstil aus Bayern, by Christiane Sellner, documents several of the shapes used by Schliersee as drawn in their "cost table" books, but these drawings are unfortunately not as accurate or to scale as those typically found in official "design" books. Still, there is a vase photographed in Sellner in pink opal glass in this identical shape (with the addition of a handle), identified as PN 131 (see third photo for a scan of the cost table drawing that corresponds).

The last photo shows the newest addition next to its companion piece. I think I am officially hooked - I now have an entire shelf section devoted to this fascinating glass house.
