    This is a gorgeous pot.I think it might be a tea caddy,the pattern reminds you of a peacock !
    Its quite heavy and has letters underneath,a backwards FVF and a G.
    I will add a pic :)
    Since posting it has been identified,but im not sure if its a tea caddy :)

      Lise you are probably realising that Vetraio likes to know things. His knowledge is already enormous but he seems keen to find out more, and often researches things we should be researching ourselves! A gem!

      Yes im finding this site fascinating,theres some gorgeous things on here,much nicer than my stuff.All of m things have been collected for pence.I got this pot the other day fom a charity shop for £2.oo,iv looked in a pottery marks book but couldn't find it :)

      Hello I also have one of these in blues with addition of made in gt britten? Stamped on it. Def tobacco i'd say but I think 1880 - 1910 ish ?
