Very neat old bike. My prize and joy of my collection. Still needs to be cleaned up.I bought it from an old lady thats had it for years in an old shop.
Good score! Got another bike 3 mos. ago so back in that world again!
does anyone know any info of these bikes? I can't find a whole lot on the internet.
From the web:
The Honda CL90 was a 4-stroke 90cc OHC motorcycle built by Honda between 1967 and 1969. The CL designation indicated this model to be the "Scrambler" version which implied some off-road capability prior to actual dirt-bikes gaining popularity. The CL series of bikes were actually street bikes with a higher rear fender, a braced handlebar, and a high-mount exhaust.
It appears that Honda quit making the CL90 in favor of the Honda CL70 which met many states laws requiring bikes to have 5 horsepower or less for restricted licenses (age 15).
One of the best places to get more info is on things like Vintage Honda Club sites or VJMC (Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club). Most clubs have forums for Q and A.
Love your CL90! I have a '69 CL90 myself that I will be restoring this winter. By any chance, would you be interested in selling that rear rack? I'd love to have one on mine. Thanks!
