This piece of needlework was done by one of my ancestors as a memorial to her grandmother. The glass in the frame has been broken since before I was born. I don't have the measurements handy as it has been wrapped up again for protection, but I think it's about 20 x 28. The second picture is of the detail showing the names.
Such a wonderl treasure . I would get glass on it asap so that it doesn't get damaged . Beautiful Post !
Just wonderful. I agree with Mani and would have it professionally re-glassed with UV protected glass. That way you can hang it up and celebrate your history.
The only reason I haven't had anything done to it is because I'm hesitant to touch the original reverse-painted glass. I'm wondering if it's possible to have a second layer of glass mounted in front of that piece so the original date and initials could still show. Thank you both for your comments!
It's really beautiful. Let us know what you decide
