    (600 items)

Here I have two Bombay Satin Nickle Candle Wall Sconces With Frosted Glass Hurricanes.

    They measure...
15" high and project 10-1/2" from the wall.
    The frosted hurricanes measures...
    11-1/4" tall.
7-13/16" in diameter at the top.
3-5/16" in diameter at the base.
The base on the metal frame measures...
    3 & 3/4" in diameter.

Sadly they did not survive thru UPS shipping.
    I almost cried :(

Did the shipper not insure them??? - I have shipped out lots of glass items and nothing ever gets broken.

I wish I had asked the seller to ship the hurricanes separate from the metal frames, even if I had to pay extra. The seller issued a refund, (which won't clear for several days) I am grateful for that. But I still don't have the most important part and I'm out on shipping. She told me to go ahead and keep the metal parts. That was really nice of her, and I am happy to have them but now I still need a replacement hurricane shade for my original wall sconce, plus two more for the frames I just received.

Thank you so much Agh xoxo
I really appreciate that, and for you finding this set for me. At least I have an extra set of frames to show for it :)

The sad results when people don't use their brains while packing glass items Aim. Maybe you can find a pair of wonderful old shades to put in the bases. They look tiny at the bottom. What's the diameter? I'll keep a look out. -Mike-

Good Morning Mike, and thank you.
This has made me want to stop buying glass online.
I'm hoping I can find replacements locally, so they don't have to be shipped. But I have never seen anything like these at any of the secondhand shops or outdoor sales around here.
I realize I just might have to, but I really, really, really don't want to put something brand new on them. Although gratefully they do have a nice base that will look great with old or new hurricanes.
The base on the hurricane is 3 & 5/16" in diameter
The base on the metal frame is 3 & 3/4" in diameter
I truly appreciate you keeping an eye out.

Hi Phil, thanks... I'll probably end up doing that for at least one set.

sad to say it was most like poos packaging rather than totally UPS mishandling. Unless you and the seller have agreed on a parital refund you are due the shipping cost as well; after all the seller will most likely file a claim and get the item cost plus shipping, and only forfeit any insurance fees. Hopefully you will be able to find some fitting replacement shades.

I agree TC. It was a mixture of both. The seller wrapped with thick bubble wrap, there was styrofoam on top the mouth of the hurricane and it had packing peanuts inside. But... the very heavy metal frames should have been shipped in a separate box. However, I do still place a lot of blame on the handlers. I've watched and heard them thump boxes on to my porch. You can imagine what they do when the recipient is not watching them. If FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc. took better care of our packages, like their jobs depended on it than busted items would be fewer and farther between. Like I told the seller, if our packages had cameras recording the process... we would see exactly why there are so many broken items during delivery *&* who is responsible. I honestly believe most of the damage occurs at their sorting facilities. Who knows, maybe someday soon. Maybe I'll go back to buying glass when driods start landing in my yard. LoL
