    Found at estate sale... The trunk has Gent's number 4. and number 36 on the bottom. the trunk is lined with newpaper from 1932/33 says hitler wins election among other great stories.. she worked for the red cross over seas.. it has a travel sticker dated 1944 12/18 on the side... it has brass and old leather straps...it still has the compartment for things as in shoes, socks,etc...

      Nice old Gent's trunk. I have seen similar trunks in early trunk catalogs and they did call them Gent's trunks. Made by many U.S. trunk companies between the late 1890's until about 1915 in this style. The number 36 was probably for the size, 36" wide trunk. People used these for a long time. Sounds like some interesting old newspapers too.
