I have always admired this set and I was able to convince Kyle to graciously sell it to me....Thanks Kyle!
It is a beautiful set and to have the original FWK labels still on two of the cups is an added bonus. To my knowledge (and I could be wrong) but there are only two known examples of a decanter set in WELZ décor...this one and the Purple bubbles and spots décor that Craig owns (pictured here...thanks for the picture Craig). This beautiful set will have a good home and be admired daily.
The décor is the same or similar to the lidded dish in this posting by Jericho:

Love them.....and your Photos too!!
What camera do you use?
Thanks antiquerose.
I use a Sony a300. Its an older camera (2008) but nice. It was $800 new, but I think you can get one on ebay now around $200-300 for a nice set. just search sony a300. here is a link to a review for the camera.

Woooow, it's impressive!!!
Thanks austrohungaro
So good they didn't remove that sticker! :)
The decanter had one too, you can see the residue from where it once was...in the perfect shape of the label.
I agree czechman...I keep imagining what other cool decor it may have come in. I think that most if not all of these sets came out of europe...and it does not seem like many were made.
FANTASTIC Glass! The Welz labels are great!
scott
Thanks valentino97
Thanks scottvez!
LOL Kyle...if I had...the set would be a pile of Glass pieces.
Wow!! What an amazing set!!
I think I almost bought this one... but I remember it having 6 glasses, is it from France from about a year or so ago?
very beautiful set BTW, congrats!
MacArt...Yes, it did come from France and yes about that time frame. I believe Kyle was the only bid on it...I have the posting picture somewhere, but don’t remember if it had shown six or the eights cups. I remember that listing well, because I did not see it. About two hours before it closed, Kyle sends an e-mail asking if anybody knows someone in France because the listing said it did not ship outside France. By the time I saw the e-mail it had already closed. my response to Kyle was ..."Just buy it and work out those details later", he must have thought the same thing because he had placed a bid and bought it. I remember I was SOOOOOO envious ...lol. I think I later sent Kyle an e-mail saying that he was a lucky SOB and that I was jealous.. :) graciously Kyle allowed me to buy it from him.
Another interesting point on this set is that when I recieved the set, I was looking it over and saw some dirty residue on the decanter...as I was about to go wash it off I took a closer look and to my suprise the residue was in the exact shape of the FWK label, so the decanter at one time had the FWK label on it also. Needless to say, I have no plans to wash it off. The interesting thing is that Kyle noticed the same thing and left it there also...lol
It is an amazing set-- the stories of the purchase and label residue are a good read.
Thanks for sharing the stories and ADD ME TO THE LIST (long probably) of those wanting to buy it!
scott
Thanks scottvez. I will add you to the list :)
I also have a great photo of the residue that is shaped like the label. I may do a follow up post with that picture.
