Breweriana…
(70 items)
I bought these wooden beer crates last night up in the coal regions of Pennsylvania from a guy who said he used to own a bar and a beer distributor back in the old days. Both are made of wood and are held together with nails and metal straps down the sides; and they have the brewery's name stamped into all sides of them. The smaller one is by "Old Reading Brewing Company" and the large one reads "Reading Brewing Company". The large one by Reading Brewing Company has wooden slats in the inside of the box to separate the glass bottles from breakage during transport.
Does anyone know anything about these crates? I'd like to put an approximate date on it, the rarity of the crates, and any other facts that you might know about it.
They both have a lot of character and look to be very old. I can't wait to incorporate them into my home's decor once I clean them up a bit.
Thanks for looking
