Here I have two Pyrex Cinderella nesting bowls in two different shades of green. They're being put to very good use ;)
They work amazingly well when being used to let bread dough rise in the oven. I used the steaming water bath technique. Where you place a pan filled with boiling water under the dough filled bowl, to keep the temperature between 82°- 85° F to help the dough rise. As you can see in the last photo, the steam bath worked extremely well on the French baguette's ;)
The bowls have been very well used, for many, many years.
The finish on the outside is dull, they may have been subjected to heat from a dishwasher.

Thanks Phil. They finished off a whole loaf before we even sat down to eat.
Nuts, thank you for the kind words.
AR, this would be the perfect recipe to start with.

Hi *i*, Sounds like a wonderful memory and a lovely grandma. I tried to collect as many of my grandmothers recipes as I could.
My house is too cold to leave the bread on the counter. I do cover the bowl with a towel but I have to put mine in the oven to keep it warm enough to rise. Everyone's environments are different as well. Some have more humidity than others. It is a great bread recipe and looks like it would work well for a French bread pizza crust.

Hi Lundy, that was with last night's dinner but if it was up to the Fam it would be on the table every night :) Thank you for the love and kind words.

Gus, thank you as well for the love :)

Icky. The Hubster will eat that stuff. Not me. I'm with you, I'd rather have homemade. At least I know what's in it ;)

Kerry Thank you for the love

My son loves oatmeal. He calls it porridge. LoL
I make it with milk, vanilla bean, brown sugar, a pinch of salt... *&* apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice. Depending on the topping. We love cream of wheat as well.

My mother always made cream of wheat when I was growing up. She made the sweet version. No butter.
