i won this ring on an online auction. the opal is just saturated with color. and i love the little forget me nots along the band.i'm not sure of the age of this ring. i am assuming it is ostby barton due to the markings inside the band.

Hi,
In reference to the Maltese Cross on an Ostby and Barton piece, that is the mark for the designer Englehart Ostby. Meaning, that it was his design and creation. The Maltese Cross makes the OB ring more valuable, as Mr.Ostby passed away aboard the Titanic in 1912, giving validity to the age of the piece.
