This desk has been in our family for over 60 years. Does anyone know anything about it? It has 8 drawers, but looks like 9 drawers. One of the drawers is double deep. Unfortunately, someone painted it at one time.

We have the same desk that belonged to my wife's parents. They bought it in the early 1950's shortly after they bought their home. Ours shows similar wear and battle scars from years of use. The drawer pulls on ours have been replaced but it sees everyday use and the drawers glide like new. They were very well built although heavy. The drawers have machine cut dovetail joints that even today are tight. These are pretty common especially up north. I haven't seen to many in the southern states. It is a rugged piece of furniture.

Thanks for your comments fhrjr2! I don't know anyone that has this desk. It's nice to know someone else owns it too! It is very rugged and heavy :)

      Thanks for your comment Aimathena!
