I'm not sure what you'd call this, but i have several of them. They are portable sorting boxes for nails, screws, washers, etc... they remind me of my grandfather's hardware store when i was a kid.

i guess this would be called a 'tool caddy' or 'tote'.
These have had pipe pitting in them.Plumber's caddy maybe?
