I jokingly called it my final resting place as I thought it might be an urn for my ashes but then the holes would allow the ashes to blow away. It is almost 24 inches tall and 9 inches across at the handles and 4 1/2 inches deep. If someone can tell me what is really is, I would appreciate it. Not sure if it is jade or some type of stone. I bought it at a Chinese sale in Brunei which is a small country on the Island of Borneo about 20 years ago.

It is a decorative item in soapstone.
You could perfectly rest in peace in this if your ashes are in a plastic bag into it! Lol
Requiescat in pace, the more late possible!!!

It would be a censer. Holes are for letting smoke from burning incense escape. However, I'm not sure if it was ever meant to be functional, or simply decorative.
