This bandoleer would have been used by Italian mounted troops in either of the world wars. It would have been worn over the shoulder of the rider, and it has four pockets for clips of 6.5mm Carcano ammunition, although it was more likely to be used with the carbine version than the rifle I posted today.
According to one source, the leather tab you see coming up from the bottom of the pouches in the second picture would have been used to secure the bandoleer through the trooper’s button hole to keep the bandoleer from flopping around. The metal holder seen in the third photo could connect to a holster for the trooper’s secondary weapon, a pistol. I’ve already posted the holster and pistol at:
