Here are the backstamps of four Nippon pieces. The first two are from "My Flea Market Treasure". Notice that the vase has a leaf and the trinket dish has the "M" within a wreath. The next is the leaf on the bottom of my moriage flower bowl. The last is on the iris vas that came from a member of the International Nippon Collector's Club and is pictured in one of Ms. Van Patten's book (don't remember which but cat is so warm in my lap I hate to move her). All are authentic and under the glazing. If you look closely at the bottom of the treasure vase you might see that the bottom part of the backstamp is missing but that the bottom of another decal is above it. Backstamps must have been applied as decals and then glazed over. Some of the portrait and scene pieces were done this way.
